The inner circle of the Self Defense Company is made up of a variety of individuals, and over the years we’ve had office professionals train along side musicians and seen college students battle it out with mechanics, and we’ve taken pride in training them all to deal with life and death situations. We’ve also been able to help soldiers and police officers from different branches and agencies join us for training, and we can only admire their commitment. Each day when they put on that uniform they make themselves a target, but they do it anyway, so for those of you who do so much for so many we created Guardian. Every year police officers die in the line of duty, and our goal is to help lower that number as much as possible through training and education.
The Department of Justice keeps statics on officer’s deaths, and from 1999 to 2008 over 500 police officers died not counting the 72 police officers from various agencies murdered on September 11th. During traffic stops one of the most common duties for police officers over100 police officers died. Of those 29 died while approaching the offender, which is why we teach you brutal close combat moves to drive them back so you can pull you’re weapon and how to take down a charging suspect. Another 7 died during a foot chase stemming from a traffic stop, so we teach you how to keep them from grabbing your weapon, and how to use non-lethal force as effectively as possible. While interviewing a suspect another 10 lost their lives so, we show you how to backup your partner, and get out of the way and strike back hard. The majority contacted dispatch for help, but unfortunately when it arrived nothing could be done.
In the same time period as above 44 officers lost their lives, because they were shot with their own weapon, so we teach real weapons retention, so anyone who tries to take your pistol or shotgun away will be sorry. If you think your vest will save you think again, because over 300 officers were killed by firearms ranging from .22’s to 12 gauge shotguns and they were all wearing body armor. Even veteran cops have died and 177 of the 530 to die had 1 to 5 year’s experience, and 136 had between 5 and 10 years on the job. Don’t end up a statistic, keep training, and give our material a try, because you will learn something that may say your life one day. Also keep in mind these are only the officers to die in the line of duty; countless others have been injured, some permanently. For us at the Self Defense Company it has always been about making sure you make it home safe at night not making money. If you wear blue you need to train, and we’re just glad to help. |
