WEC today announced the signing of undefeated lightweight Tiequan "The Mongolian Wolf" Zhang (11-0).   He will make his promotional debut at WEC 51 against UFC veteran Alex Karalexis (10-5 MMA, 4-3 WEC).

Zhang, a native of Beijing, China, becomes the first fighter from mainland China to fight within the WEC organization.  He is a veteran of the Art of War organization and trains with China Top Team under former Brazilian Top Team member Ruy Menezes.

WEC 51 takes place in Broomfield, Colo., on Sept. 30 and features a featherweight title tilt between Jose Aldo and Manny Gamburyan.  The main card airs live on the Versus network.
