Daniel Straus (12-3) is stepping in for Marcus Hicks to face WEC veteran Karen Darabedyan at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 in Amarillo, Tex. Straus has won eight straight fights after starting his career at 4-3. Amazingly, Straus made his professional debut just 19 months ago and has often fought in back-to-back weeks. Darabedyan (9-3) suffered a pair of first-round arm-bar losses in a three-month span in the WEC, falling first to Bart Palaszewski and then to Will Kerr. Darabedyan knocked out Estevan Payan at Shark Fights 6 last September.

Phil Davis' next hurdle is veteran Tim Boetsch, as the pair are slated to meet at UFC 123 outside of Detroit on Nov. 20. Davis has won all seven of his professional fights, including a decision over Rodney Wallace at UFC 117 that improved his UFC record to 3-0. He stepped into that fight on short notice. Boetsch (12-3) is 3-2 in the UFC after a decision over Todd Brown, also at UFC 117. He has won four in a row overall.

The UFC made official Montreal as the location for the Dec. 11 UFC 124 event, which features the welterweight championship showdown between Georges St. Pierre and challenger Josh Koscheck.
The official announcement of Montreal's Bell Centre as the venue for UFC 124 came via the UFC's "Ultimate Insider" series.

The M-1 Challenge is set for the Ice Palace on Oct. 28 in St. Petersburg, Russia, with a few of the matchups set and some others to be determined. Lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight belts will be on the line. For the lightweight title, M-1 Selection Eastern Europe 2010 champion Artiom Damkovsky (10-4) faces Mairbek Taisumov (12-2), the M-1 Selection Western Europe 2010 champion (12-2). For the middleweight crown, M-1 Selection Eastern Europe 2010 champion Magomed Sultanakhmedov (28-4) meets Rafal Moks (5-2), the M-1 Selection Western Europe 2010 winner. In the Heavyweight title fight , Maxim Grishin (7-4), the M-1 Selection Eastern Europe champion, takes on M-1 Selection Western Europe champion Guram Gugenishvili (8-0). The welterweight and light heavyweight championship bouts are being scheduled for later this year in the United States, establishing M-1 Challenge champions in all five weight classes. Once executed, a true contenders system will be established to fuel events throughout 2011.

In anticipation of their UFC 121 main-event fight, UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (5-1 ) and undefeated challenger Cain Velasquez (8-0) will be featured in the latest edition of Spike TV's three-part "UFC Primetime" special.
"UFC Primetime: Lesnar vs. Velasquez" debuts Oct. 6, at 11 p.m. Subsequent episodes air in the timeslot on Oct. 13 and Oct. 20.
UFC 121 takes place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Newark, Anaheim, Calif., and airs on pay-per-view.
