No matter what, LEAVE THE HOUSE!!! Through a window, through a door, but leave. The alarm is a GREAT tool, but its effectiveness is only as good as your local police response time. In most cases, when the criminal hears the alarm they know they have about 4 or 5 minutes (they can still do a lot of damage in that time). No alarm, they can take their time- so have an alarm.

Remember, you do NOT need to answer the phone, BRINKS or any other alarm company will send the police if you don't answer- so just get out of the house.
