Even if the World doesn’t come to an end you should be prepared

Call me skeptical, but the world didn’t come to an end when we began the year 2000, hell my computer didn’t even stop working, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be ready to handle the worst case scenario.  Here at the Self Defense Company we teach people how to deal with muggers, murders, and all kinds of assorted criminals, but millions of people go about their day unmolested, and you’re more likely to be struck by lighting than killed by a terrorist, but that doesn’t mean you don’t prepare yourself.  It would be like saying cancer research is a waste of money because you don’t have it, so if your preparing for what happens in 2012 more power to you and good job beating the rush.  So remember as you’re stocking up on bottled water, ammunition, and toilet paper you should put your training manuals in with your survival manuals.

Now for those of you who some how have missed the many documentaries on the topic it is believed by some people that the world will come to an end some time during the year 2012.  Nobody is exactly sure what will do us in, and theories range from things like Tsunamis and earthquakes to solar flares and even a pole shift.  This all was predicted supposedly by the Mayan calendar, and while some historians believe the very accurate calendar will simply reset others feel it is the end of days, and say there are other prophecies to back up what they say.  A number of experts of debunked these various dooms day theories, and I’m sure you like me you hope they’re right, but what do we do if things really do get bad?  If you’re going to survive you better be prepared for total chaos, and don’t expect help any time soon.

It’s hard to imagine the government’s of the world dealing with disaster on a global scale, after all things area a total mess even when just one region is affected.  That’s not to say that government agencies don’t try hard and maybe things don’t run smoothly, but it does get done.  So let us assume help will come or order will at least be reestablished at some point, well if you’re on your own even for a few months you’ll have to worry about food, medical supplies, and everyone else that weren’t as ready as you were.  In other articles I’ve stressed the importance of building a community of people you can count on and training with to survive disaster, but this takes time, so start now and keep training.

For our part we’ve made it easy for you to learn our hand to hand combat style, we’ve lowered the price so more people can afford it, and we also give you training manuals to go with your DVD’s incase you suddenly have to go the low tech route.  Hey we can’t make it much simpler than a system that can be learned quickly, utilize any weapon, and can be used by both the youngest and oldest members of your group.  If the predictions are correct people will be in bad shape and not all of them will be nice, so keep track of your stockpile, find like minded people, and start training with us if you want to survive.
