There is nothing wrong with seeking out the help of a mental health professional to talk things out and get some advice in fact considering how crazy it is out there more people should do that, but instead some of you are looking for a quick fix. Well, I hate to break this to you, but it doesn’t work that way, and while changing your attitude can improve your life you can’t cure deeply rooted psychological problems over night, and seminars and books can only do so much. While it takes a lot of soul searching and support from others some of you simply want to pick up one of the thousands of books released every year and be “cured,” but while your mental health may or may not improve if you train with the Self Defense Training System we can promise you some improvements.
Sharing with the group, walking on fire, and banging a drum while screaming out to gods are just some of the techniques self help people use to improve the lives of those who come to them looking for guidance. Most aren’t even psychologists and there credentials are questionable to say the least, and just because you have a book out doesn’t make you any more knowledgeable than the next guy. Also while researching this article I talked to a mental health professional that I know, and he says he’d never say someone would be feeling better in a set amount of time. Unfortunately for many people they find this out after investing both time and money, and little has changed in their lives. Personal growth comes from learning from life experiences, and it is up to you to make the necessary changes to improve your life.
Now grant you we do sell training modules and we offer seminars, but we actually what we claim. If you spend time training with our material you will enhance your ability to defend yourself in a crisis, and that will help you reduce the stress in your life, because you’ll be more confident when you’re facing the world. Sure problems won’t just disappear, but as an added bonus you won’t be killed, so you can add a longer healthier life to the list of benefits of the system. Want to improve your relationship with your family, well why not train together and share all the benefits of your new found knowledge. You could be on the road to a better life with just an hour of training a day.
Maybe that all does sound a little over the top, but unlike some self help folks our program works for everyone and if you put the time in you will get something out of it, and if for some reason you don’t you can cancel any time. You’ll probably get more out of hitting the heavy bag than doing some pointless ritual, and if you’re able to fend of an attacker your self esteem will probably only rise. So put down that self help pamphlet and the tissues and start getting it together. You have the power to make your life better, so start making the right choices. |
