Many of you know I’ve been diligently opening a corporate regulated training center in Uniontown, Pa.  This is a typical escalation in the Self Defense Company’s Program; however, I wanted to take a moment to discuss my hometown of Uniontown, PA

For starters Uniontown is within Fayette County, which happens to be one of the top five poorest counties in America, according to state Department of Public Welfare (DPW) Secretary Estelle Richman.  It often hosts poverty summits for national intervention.  It has also earned the name “Little Chicago” for our unprecedented crime rates and drug smuggling, and most recently the town itself has declared bankruptcy.

Looking at the numbers Uniontown is not the ideal place to open any business, let alone a private and exclusive self defense training center, aka no group classes.  This is exactly why Damian and I wanted a center here, to prove and continually test the effectiveness and ability of the self defense programs and business processes.  Bluntly ladies and gentleman if a business can survive and profit here, it can profit and succeed anywhere.

My prices are almost triple of my publicly perceived “competitors,” yet by using the processes in the instructor manuals, I have not had one person turn down classes to date.  Let me repeat that, I haven’t had one person to date tell me they aren’t interested in signing up.  I don’t have any secrets; you have the same manual I do.  Those of you that speak to me regularly know that I’m very passionate about our mission and openly share my successes and failures.

The processes work, the public relation campaigns work, and anytime you hit a wall, pick up the phone and call.
